A native of Idaho, Dr. Florence received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Idaho State University and went on to obtain his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from A.T. Still University, Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri.  He completed his residency at the New York Institute of Technology-New York College of Osteopathic Medicine at Peninsula Hospital Center and North Shore LIJ Health System.   He completed his sub-specialty fellowship training in Sports Medicine at the Lake Tahoe Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship in South Lake Tahoe, California. Dr. Florence provides general orthopedic care including surgery on various joints including the hips, knees, and shoulders, and performs general orthopedic procedures, including arthroscopy, total joint replacements, and fracture care.  With his additional training in Sports Medicine, he performs many other specialized surgeries in both the young and older injured athletes including hip arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair, and ACL reconstruction. Having grown up in a small Idaho town, and then moving to the Midwest for four years and New York for five, Dr. Florence, his wife, and his four children are excited to be back in the mountains, living in Estes Park.
