At EPH, we coordinate care with medical providers to ensure a comprehensive plan of care that will enable you to meet your goals! We work with every resident of, or visitor to, the Estes Valley to provide options for rehabilitation including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and cardiac rehabilitation. Outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy is provided in our beautiful new gym. Our clinical treatment area located at 420 Steamer Drive (970-577-4368) offers both state-of-the-art equipment as well as private rooms to accommodate every need.

Specialized Treatments
Orthopedic Rehab: Post-operative rehab and total joint replacements. Generalized weakness, muscle, joint, and bone injuries. Sprain, strain, tendon, and ligament repairs.
Neurological Rehab: Skilled intervention and care for patients with a diagnosis of ALS, multiple sclerosis, CVA, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury, neuropathy, and traumatic brain injury.
Sports Medicine: Return to sport after an injury. Throwing, running, jump/landing training and assessment.
Manual Therapy: Hands-on treatment to restore soft tissue mobilization, increase flexibility and provide pain relief. Techniques include Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Kinesio taping, and cupping.
Dry Needling: Treatment using monofilament needles that are inserted into a muscle, usually a trigger point. The needle stimulates the muscle, causing it to contract and then release. Dry needling is a safe technique for treating headaches, muscle strain, hip and low back pain, tendinitis, iliotibial band syndrome, tennis elbow, and other chronic pain disorders.
Postural Assessments: Assessment of the position of the head, shoulder, spine, hips, and knees to address core stability, prevent injuries, and improve athletic performance.
Lymphedema: Treatment of post-surgical edema and lymphedema providing education, hands on care and recommended movement.
Vestibular Testing and Rehabilitation: Testing and treatment of vertigo/dizziness that can cause spinning, unsteadiness in walking, and disruptions of balance as a result of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), head injuries, post-covid syndrome, or stroke.
Balance Testing and Training: Integrating the three components of balance: visual (see), proprioceptive (feel), and vestibular (hear) to decrease the risk of fall and other injuries using static and dynamic exercise.
Gait Training & Equipment Needs: Therapy designed to improve one’s ability to walk and stand. This includes assistive device training, education, and fit testing of walkers, canes, or crutches.

Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Training: Therapy centered on activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, feeding oneself, and mobility.
Orthopedic Rehab: Evaluation and treatment of the hand, wrist, elbow, or shoulder injuries that may result in loss of motion, function, or cause pain and swelling including carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, wrist and elbow fractures, trigger finger, or complex regional pain syndrome.
Splinting: Fabrication of hand and wrist splints to improve joint positioning, hand function, stability, and joint protection. Custom made splints allow us to provide an individualized and unique treatment plan.
Cognitive Therapy: Assessment of functional cognition for the treatment of dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease, stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, head/brain injuries for the improvement of attention, decision-making, memory, problem-solving, and safety awareness.

Specialized Treatments
Aphasia: Problems speaking, understanding, using numbers, or reading due to a brain injury or stroke.
Apraxia: Addressing difficulty controlling the muscles of the mouth in order to speak clearly.
Cognitive-communication disorders: Using gold-standard tests, we address problems with memory, reasoning, attention, and problem-solving.
Dysarthria: Strengthening muscles and increasing breath support to improve difficult or unclear articulation of speech helping to improve communication with family members and the community.
Voice disorders: Support of patients who struggle with high- or low-pitched voices, hoarseness, or inability to make sound.
Swallowing (Dysphagia): Problems or difficulty with chewing or swallowing that could lead to dehydration, aspiration, pneumonia, or respiratory infections.
Modified Barium Swallow Studies: Using a special x-ray, Radiologists and Speech Language Pathologists work together to identify why you are having trouble swallowing allowing the SLP to identify interventions that will enable you to swallow more easily and safely.

Role of Cardiac Rehabilitation
With one-on-one personalized care, we are passionate about helping you to gain back your confidence after what can be a frightening life event. Our 12-week program is designed to enable heart patients to help control cardiac risk factors, improve fitness, and learn to live with the effects of heart disease. Cardiac Rehab is located in the outpatient services department at the main hospital with direct access to cardiologists and support staff.
Phase II Cardiac Rehab
Nurse monitored exercise sessions are designed to strengthen your heart, relieve symptoms of heart problems, and decrease stress and anxiety. We also provide nutrition/weight management education by a licensed dietitian.
During exercise, your heart rhythm and blood pressure is monitored to ensure safety as well as to provide real time feedback regarding how your heart is tolerating the increased activity. Over 12 weeks, your nurse may increase your time/resistance to improve and build stamina and endurance. A certificate of completion as awarded to all patients who complete the cardiac rehab program!.
